WHY DO WE WORSHIP GOD?
We are admonished throughout the scriptures to worship Him. “You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.” Matt 4:10
WHY DO WE STAND TO SING?
“Then the Levites of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with voices loud and high.” 2 Chr. 20:19, “After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothes with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’” Rev. 7:9-10
WHY DO WE CLAP OUR HANDS?
“Oh, clap your hands, all you people! Shout to God with the voice of triumph!” Ps.47:1
WHY DO WE LIFT OUR HANDS?
“Thus I will bless you while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.” Ps.63:4, “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord.” Ps. 134:2, “I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting” 1 Tim.2:8
WHY DO WE HAVE AUDIBLE PRAISE UNTO GOD?
“Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!” Ps 103:1, “Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” Heb 13:15
WHY DO WE HAVE SPEAKING IN UNKNOWN TONGUES AND INTERPRETATION IN THE CHURCH?
“Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues.” 1 Cor 14:39, “7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all…10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.” 1 Cor 12:7–10
WHAT IS A PROPHECY AND WHY DO WE PROPHESY?
“But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.” 1 Cor. 14:3, “Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.” 1 Cor.14:1
WHY ARE MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS A PART OF THE WORSHIP SERVICE?
“3 Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with the lute and the harp! 4 Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes! 5 Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with clashing cymbals!” Ps. 150:3-5
WHY DO WE RECEIVE TITHES AND OFFERINGS?
“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says the Lord of host, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.” Mal. 3:10, “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38
