January Prayer + Fasting

It is amazing how God moves in our lives when we set time aside for prayer and fasting.

Join us as we start 2025 with prayer & fasting

Dates: January 6-26

Pastor Paul has invited the church to join in a time of prayer and fasting during the first three weeks of January. From Monday-Wednesday each week, we are encouraged to replace meals with intentional prayer.

If fasting from food isn’t feasible for your health or circumstances, you are welcome to choose an alternative form of fasting that works for you. The focus is on dedicating time to prayer and setting apart the beginning of 2025 to Him in faith and consecration. Let’s seek Him together as a church family!

Join us for a special Prayer Meeting every Tuesday in January from 6pm-7pm during the fast.

WHAT IS FASTING?

FASTING IS A SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINE OF OBEDIENCE TO CHRIST FOR SUPERNATURAL RESULTS AND ANSWERS TO PRAYER. THIS MEANS REPLACING A MEAL OR MEALS FOR A DAY (OR CERTAIN AMOUNT OF DAYS) WITH PRAYER.

BIBLICALLY, TRUE FASTING IS SACRIFICING FOOD, HOWEVER, THERE ARE ADDITIONAL WAYS TO FAST. ARE THERE THINGS IN YOUR LIFE THAT ARE TAKING AWAY TIME SPENT WITH GOD?

WHAT DOES FASTING DO?

    1. DRAWS YOU CLOSER TO GOD
      • “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” James 4:8

    2. HELPS YOU DISCIPLINE YOUR FLESH
      • “So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.” Galatians 5:16

    3. BRINGS RESULTS
      • “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” Matthew 17:20-21
